With great sadness, we announce the loss of our mother and grandmother, Laurette Samson.
Laurette was born Feb 21, 1925 in Ramore, ON. She married Gerard Samson in Windsor, ON in 1943, where she raised her family of 6. After Gerard’s passing in 2004, she moved to Sudbury to reside with her son Mike and his wife Ginette.
Laurette was a feisty, witty, hardworking woman who loved family, family gatherings and visits. She was an avid gardener, quilter and puzzle maker. Laurette loved the outdoors and even into her 90’s could be found in the garden or doing yard work. Laurette is survived by her children Gerard (Carmen), Mike (Ginette), Cheryl Hollister (Doug - predeceased), Nancy Lacroix (Ray), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerard, her daughter Irene Benoit (Claude) and son Patrick.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Laurette’s memory can be made directly to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Please accept our sincerest condolences to Ginette, Mike & family; You have have all shared many, many memories and had time to indulge in getting to know each other more intimately than most in-laws, grandmothers, grandchildren & children ever get to do.
