In Loving Memory of Russell Myroslav Wasyluk, 82 years who passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Rose (née Villemere) Wasyluk. Born in Wishart, SK he was the son of the late Mac and Dora (née Evanski) Wasyluk. Dearly loved brother of Irene (predeceased), Sye (predeceased) (Shirley), Leona (Mike), Leonard (predeceased) (Doddie), and Shirley (Alban predeceased). Fondly remembered by the Villemere family: Orval and Leah Villemere both predeceased, Gordon Villemere (predeceased), John Villemere, Darlene Lacelle (Patrick), Darcy (predeceased), and Terry (Cecil). Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A dedicated employee of 20 years, Russ took great pride in his work with Syncrude Canada in Alberta. As someone who wanted to give back to his community, he ran for City Council in Alberta as well as sitting on the board with FedNor. He was a gifted athlete who excelled in numerous sports such as curling, golfing, and baseball. Russell will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Respecting his wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at 11am at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1250 Barrydowne Road, Sudbury. Friends may gather after 10:30am.
My deepest condolences to Rose and his family. I will never forget my time with Russ. He was a wonderful person to everyone around him. Never a dull moment.
