It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dee Letta Pen (née Ferris) on December 18th, 2019. Wife of 34 years to Ivan Pen. Loving mother of Tyler, Ivana McCue (Matthew), and Adam. Cherished Gran of Luca, Matteo, and Milo. Daughter of Hélène and Melville Ferris, both predeceased. Dearest sister of Lila Ongaro (Frank), Hélène Forbes (Stuart), Lisa Ferris (Maurice), and Sean Ferris (Line). Daughter-in-law of Elio and Elide Pen. Sister-in-law of Marisa and Claudia. Beloved Auntie to Eric, Kathryne, Mark, Megan, Rachel, Alexandra, Emilie, Samuel, Jacob, Zachery, and Katrina. Thoughtful, kind, and organized, Dee was always there for anyone in need. She was a wonderful cook and there was always an extra seat at the table for last-minute guests. She loved gardening and took pride in her backyard oasis. Most of all, Dee was her children’s greatest champion and adored her three grandsons.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Celebration of Life in her honour on Sunday, December 29th from 1pm–4pm at the Fielding Memorial Park, 345 Fielding Road in Lively. Light refreshments will be served.

My deepest sympathy to Dee’s family. My kids sure enjoyed the myriad of cookies she gave them when she took them in after school. My thoughts are with her family at such a difficult time.

Auntie Dee was a wonderful woman who was taken from us far too soon. She had a heart of gold and would always be there to help out whenever someone needed her. Her spinach lasagna managed to make a kid who wasn’t fussed about veggies clear her plate because it was so good. Even in a big family, she made us all feel special and individual and most importantly, loved. She will be dearly missed. My sincerest condolences to all those who have lost this special light from their lives.
