Nerpin, Joanne

Joanne Mary Nerpin, 70, of Chelmsford Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2026 after she lost her battle with Crohn’s and Cancer. She was surrounded by the love from her daughters and their families by her bedside.

During her life with her husband, John (predeceased), they created a beautiful family and leave behind three gorgeous daughters, her baby girls Ashley (Andre), Stephanie (David) and Stacey (Glen) to take care of her beautiful granddaughter Kayleigh and her handsome grandsons Matthew & John-Thomas and her grandpuppy Dutchy-Dutch. John and Joanne showed them how to be strong, independent, compassionate, and they instilled their sense of what a family is and does for one another. She loved them with everything she had and never once wished for her life to be anything different.

She will be missed by many. She leaves behind her mom Beth Behenna, her sister Karen Hawes (Jim) and her brother Tom Behenna (Hope). Her in-laws Carol, Jim (Jo-Ann), Tim (Sally), Edwin, Loretta and Bruce. Not to mention the many nieces and nephews that are too many to mention, but you all know who you are. She will finally be with her soulmate and husband John to spend the rest of eternity with. She will also join her father Tom Behenna as well as her in-laws Bob and Tina in heaven and be surrounded by their love.

Her daughters wish to give a special thank you to their Aunt Karen who has been a quiet force in a raging storm that kept us laughing and moving forward. Without you to help take care of our mom we don’t know what we would have done.

There will be no funeral arrangements as per Joanne’s wishes. There will be a small farewell gathering by invite only to be announced shortly. A Celebration of Life party will be held at a later date which will be open for all who knew Joanne and want to celebrate her life as she lived. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Health Sciences North Neo Kids Foundation in honour of our mom.
