The family announces the passing of Larry Joseph Marcotte on Sunday, February 15, 2025, at Health Sciences North, following a cancer diagnosis in October 2024.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife Sharon, his mother Rita, father Orville, sister Sue, brothers Robert and Andrew, and his in-laws Katherine and Al. Larry is deeply missed by his children, Ryan (Emily) and Karli (Brandon), his sister Gloria (Michael), his brother Bruce, extended family, and cherished friends.
Larry was born on October 22, 1959, in Sudbury, Ontario, and had close ties to the Gatchell community. He dedicated over 40 years of service to Cambrian College as a maintainer, where his hard work and steady presence were appreciated by many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Larry especially loved relaxing on the back deck with his puppies, soaking in the fresh air with a cold beer in hand.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre, Health Sciences North, and Bayshore for the care and kindness shown to Larry and family. In true Larry fashion - stubborn and set in his ways - there will be no funeral service. We invite you to honour him in your own way.
