It is with sadness that the Kollar family announces the passing of Monica (nee Jedyk) Kollar on Friday, June 1st, 2018 at the age of 57. Born in Elliot Lake to the late Walter and Adele (nee Breuer) Jedyk. She was the beloved mother of Alex. Loving sister of Ben (predeceased), Helga, Walter, Karen, and Margaret. Monica possessed a unique presence of constant kindness, humor and selflessness. As a single mother, her relentless work ethic to provide a home for her son was something to be admired. Those who knew her agreed that she was always full of love and compassion. The family is honoring Monica’s wishes not to have a service only a small burial ceremony at a later date, for those closest to her. Donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts.
I knew Monica while our boys were young and chumming around. She was a hard worker and funny lady who loved her son Alex furiously. I had the priviledge of chumming with her for a few years but unfortunately, lost touch. I count her as one of the kindest people who crossed my path and the world is a little sadder without her. My condolences Alex. Know you were always loved.
