Rick passed away on his 66th birthday, July 11th, 2025 at Health Sciences North surrounded by his family and friends following a motorcycle accident. Rick is pre-deceased by his loving wife and soulmate, Monique Weaver. He is pre-deceased by his father, Bill. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Stephanie and husband Darryl, his son Matt and husband Dave, his 2 grandchildren, Aiden and Zoey, his brothers Ron and wife Brenda, and Jim and wife Lise, his mother Marie, as well as all of his extended family and many friends.
Rick was such a special man. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He loved his family deeply and was a great friend and neighbour. He was a hard worker who was well respected by his colleagues at Metal Air. Rick loved country music and knew how to have a great time. His laugh and fun-loving spirit were infectious.
Rick loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing and loving every day! He was a super involved grandfather who included his grandchildren in these activities and many more. He taught us all many valuable life lessons.
Rick and Monique had a truly exceptional marriage that was evident to all. They fell in love at the age of 15 years and were married for 45 years and he missed her deeply. We hope they are in each others arms once more dancing up a storm.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit who provided excellent care to him and compassionate support to the family.
The family will be arranging a Celebration of Life to honour him and his memory. They will share details of the event through Facebook, Ranger’s website and Sudbury.com once confirmed. Donation’s can be made directly to the HSN Foundation https://hsnfoundation.com/donate/ (Northern Cancer Fund).
My deepest sympathies to the Weaver family. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you all. There is so much love in this family, it truly is infectious. May these two lovebirds have peace and comfort in each others arms again.

There are really no adequate words to express our sorrow and condolences to all of our family for the loss of such a beloved son…and cherished nephew…uncle Dennis and aunt Carol.
