May 24, 1939 - January 28, 2026
At the Espanola Nursing Home, peacefully, with her daughters at her side Irene joined those she loved and missed. Irene was predeceased by her parents David & Betty McIntyre, her beloved husband Bill, and her brothers David & Ron.
She will be forever missed by her daughters Nancy (Art) and Beverley (Clifford), her grandchildren Bill (Amy), Cameron (Chantal), and Natalie (Taylor). Irene was also fun loving GiGi to Johnny, Abby, & Ava.
Irene was born & raised in Pickering and moved to the Brantford area where she raised her family in a home filled with love & laughter. Irene was a talented artist involved in the local art community. She shared a love of dogs with Bill and together they spent many years raising and showing American cockers- travelling across Canada and the United States.
Irene was proud of her Scottish & Irish heritage, instilling that pride in her family. Irene taught us compassion and strength with her uncomplaining nature and her approach to life. She was the life of the party and always ready to set another place at her table.
The family is thankful for the exemplary care provided at the end of life by the staff at the Espanola Nursing Home and those who helped with private duty in-home care. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or the Espanola Nursing Home would be appreciated.
Goodnight Irene, we will see you in our dreams.

Please accept my condolences on your mom’s passing.
I once took art lessons from Irene and we painted with the art members on Tuesday afternoons. I enjoyed working with her on the guild’s committees. We also loved talking about our beloved animals.
I have wonderful memories of those times.
Your mom was a lovely lady.

Nancy and Beverly,
We were so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing.
Irene will always be remembered as someone who put her family above all else. Our reunions were filled with such joy — stories shared, songs sung, and so much laughter. Your mom was always there with a twinkle in her eye. We especially cherish the memories of her 80th birthday celebration; she enjoyed it so much, and so did we.
Please take good care of yourselves, and may her memory always be a blessing.
With heartfelt sympathy
