It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Frappier, a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. After a brief illness, she left this world peacefully on September 9th, 2025, at the age of 73 years old.
She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. A deeply loving wife to her husband Rejean (Reg) Frappier of 53 years, a loyal and supportive sister to Anne Marie Martyn (Denny) and Mike Lynch (Rachel), a patient and giving mother to her children Christine (Joey) and Jim (Sylvia), and a proud, doting grandmother of Emilie, Brielle, Vincent, Allison, Abigail, and Annabelle who were her pride and joy the past 18 years. As her family was everything to her, she poured her heart into raising her children, being there for her grandchildren, and leading by example through her selflessness, kindness, inner strength, and remarkable courage. She took immense pride in the lives her children and grandchildren are building. She was also a cherished sister-in-law, a generous aunt, a caring cousin, and an incredible, kindhearted friend.
Helen lived a full life with humility and grace, marked by simple, selfless acts of love she gave every day. She was the kind of person who did not like the spotlight, but she did have a love for all things that shined or sparkled, and she brought that same light into every room she entered with her gentle presence. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her—whether through a comforting word, a home-cooked meal, a game of cards, or a piece of her highly anticipated, famous banana split cake. She never met a sale she didn’t like, and her closets could rival any department store. Her shopping sprees were legendary, and she proudly passed down her keen sense of bargain hunting and thrifting to her children and grandchildren.
Our family’s heartfelt thanks go out to the doctors, nurses, personal support workers and staff on the 7th floor of the north tower at Health Sciences North for the exceptional care, compassion, dedication and understanding they showed during Helen’s short time there. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention meant the world to our family during a difficult time. We are deeply grateful for the comfort and support provided—not only to her, but to all of us. Thank you for the incredible work you do every day.
Her passing leaves a space that will never be filled, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. Our family will carry her memory forward in the small, everyday ways she taught us—through kindness, gentleness, strength, and love.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal service as she valued simplicity and preferred to avoid any fuss. A celebration of life will be held on October 4, 2025, at St-Jean de Brébeuf Parish Hall from 11am to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honor her memory through acts of kindness—just as she so often did—or, if you prefer, by making a donation to a charity of your choice.
She is already deeply missed and will be lovingly remembered always.
