In loving memory of Dorothy Mae Forest (nee Levesque) who passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2025 at Extendicare York, Sudbury at the age of 95. Predeceased by her father, Omer Levesque, mother Emily Mae (nee Shannon) and brothers William (Bill) (wife Lynn), Robert (Bob), Philip (Pete), and her husband Sam Topolinsky.
Loving mother of Jeannette Kelly (John), both predeceased, Richard (Claire), and Ronald (Susan). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Sean, Natalie, Laura, Kevin, Eric, and Shawn. Great grandmother of 13.
Dorothy was a longtime employee (three decades) of Sudbury F.W. Woolworths. She enjoyed working retail and shopping was her pastime.
Dorothy will long be remembered for her devotion to family, her love of shopping, and her sense of humour. Mom, you were one of a kind. Rest in peace, Mom. Enjoy that Mall in the sky.

Sending my sincere condolences to Dorothy’s children. I cannot tell you the impact Dorothy had on my life! Dorothy and Sam were staples in my home, as a child. Growing up in the 1970’s my parents Gloria & Harry had Sam & Dorothy over for drinks, meals, laughter, and Sam’s weird photography – literally my entire childhood. I loved visiting Aunt Dorothy at Kresge’s Department store. As a 6 year old girl, she’d let me “pretend I was a sales lady! In an era when children were not given the overwhelming attention they receive now – this was a thrill I’ll never forget. Ohhh… and our times at Richard Lake with Dorothy & Sam, and a big bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. She always made me feel special.. Dorothy never forgot my birthday.. I always received something cool from Kresge’s, no doubt. In later years, after her beloved Sam was gone, I’d visit Dorothy with my own children. We’d talk about so many things.. How I loved watching her and my mom fix their hair, and get all “ prettied up” for a dance they were going to with Sam & and dad, Harry. I believe Dorothy showed me how to do “ the Farrah flip” with my first electric curling iron in 1976! She had such a sweet mannerism., and spoke of her Ronald & Richard with pride. I appreciate also aunt Dorothy’s daughter (the absolutely marvellous) Jeannette! (who, btw, was an absolute goddess in my 8 year old’s view) Jeannette -(what an awesome hippy!). Dorothy would laugh, and somehow I think even approved of Jeannette’s leather fringes, Belle-bottoms & go-go boots! Aunt Dorothy, I love you! I thank my parents for giving me Dorothy’s middle name “ Mae” ..I gave it to my own daughter “ Emily Mae” as well.
