Dhinel, Ronald

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Dhinel, 84 years old, who left us on January 7th, 2026 at Pioneer Manor with his family by his side. Born on November 17th, 1941, Ron was the beloved son of Patrick and Lyla Dhinel (both predeceased). Survived by his sisters Ida Loftus (Charles predeceased), Helene Dhinel, Cecile Lauzon (Ernie predeceased), Linda Rowe (Fred), and Pauline Blythe (Mike). Predeceased by his siblings Robert Dhinel (Lorraine), Leonard Dhinel (Claudette), Yvonne Moerenhout (Mike), and Rita Carriere (Cyril) both predeceased.

A devoted husband and father, Ron leaves behind his wife Linda, to whom he was married for 63 years; his two daughters, Suzanne Gaudreault (Paul), Nicole Boissonneault (Norm), and his son, Daniel Dhinel. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Jody Dhinel (Shenelle), Danica Boyd (Andrew), Eric Gaudreault, Melanie Gaudreault (Rob), Breanna Boissonneault, and Brady Boissonneault. He will also be missed by his great grandchildren: Grayson, Autumn, Phoenix, and Patricia.

Ron will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness and generosity. He worked at INCO (Vale) for 30 years and retired at the young age of 53 which allowed him to enjoy his true love of carpentry. A self-taught carpenter, he enjoyed working with his hands and took on many different projects, including building his own home on Whitewater Lake in Chelmsford.

An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in camping, fishing, and hunting. Ron was a man of the water, happiest with a rod in hand, and a fish story to tell. He’s now on his eternal fishing trip, forever casting lines in peaceful waters.

Ron was also known for his sharp wit, memorable jokes, and infectious laughter. He was a man whose life was defined by integrity, compassion, hard work, and quiet strength.

As per Ron’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 1-4pm at the Club 50 in Chelmsford. Attendees are encouraged to bring a fishing story and join in one last fishing trip in Ron’s honour.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Manor for their compassion and support during the past four years and Ron’s last days with us. A special thank you to his PSW, Nathalie.
