Davis, Dorothy

In loving memory of Dorothy Davis (nee Spickett), 75 years, who passed away Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 at the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre. Beloved daughter of Victor Ernest and Dorothy (nee Newell) Spickett, both predeceased. Loving wife to Ted Johnston (predeceased). Loving mother of Margreat Davis, Raymond Davis, Tammy Davis (Bowerman), and Kenneth Davis. Cherished grandmother of Gabrielle Davis, Dianna (Taylor) Davis, Dustin Davis, Ravon Bowerman, Robby Bowerman, Teagan Bowerman, Jayden Davis, Rory Bowerman, Tamika Bowerman, Harley Davis, and great-grandchildren Evelyn Davis, Illyanna Davis, Robyn and Blake Whitebuffalo. Dorothy was the eldest of five children: Victor Spickett, Douglas Spickett (predeceased), Betty McLaughlin, and Diane Wells. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was an artist who loved to work with her hands in many different mediums, and was often known for being creative chaos as she would often take on several projects at a time. She loved helping people, especially kids, and opened and ran two kids’ centres that were open to anyone. She dedicated a lot of her time to them. In her later years, Dorothy loved looking out at the garden, seeing the flowers and watching the many birds who visited.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on May 31st, 2025, which would have been her 76th birthday, at Overtime Sports Bar in Chelmsford from 2 pm to 4 pm. Please RSVP to 705-869-8457. Instead of flowers, donations to the Sudbury-Manitoulin Children’s Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services, Ltd.
