It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Jeannine Alain, who left us peacefully on Sunday, June 29th, 2025 surrounded by love and memories. Jeannine was predeceased by her spouse, Raymond Houle, and the father of her children, Julien Alain. She was also predeceased by her beloved children Raymonde, Michel, Claude, and Anita and three grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, and Danny.
She is survived by her children Denis (Carole), Suzanne (Michel Bigras), Raymond, and Hélène. She is survived by four of her eight siblings: Emilia (Millie), Jacqueline, Donald, and Noella. Jeannine’s legacy lives on through her many surviving grandchildren: Ginette (John Toivonen), Joel Alain (Jaime), Patrick Alain (Miguel Florendo), Lisa Alain, Christine (Stephane Moreau), Stephane Bigras (Kristee), Roch Bigras (Carlee), Jason Paquette (Crystal), Melanie Paquette (Martin Prevost), Eric Alain (Tina), Stephanie Alain (Kyle), Julie Couillard, Robert Couillard, Roxanne Joly (Melissa), Danny Joly, and Steven Gervais. She was also a proud great-grandmother to many.
Our mother lived life fiercely and on her own terms. You always knew where she stood and her strength, humour, and honesty left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Extendicare Countryside, particularly the third floor, Cedar Estate team. You were all so very kind. A special mention goes to Danielle for her exceptional kindness during all of mom’s stay. Details of a memorial mass will be shared at a later date.
