It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Ernest St. Onge lovingly known as Ernie on October 9, 2026 at the age of 79. He passed peacefully at Maison McCullough Hospice with his daughters by his side.
Ernie was born on Sept 26,1947 in Chelmsford Ontario, where he was a lifetime resident. Son of Fernande and William St. Onge, who are both predeceased.
Beloved father of Laurie Shaw (Michael) and Cathy Weber (Nelson)
Dear brother of Lillian St. Onge (Ronald predeceased), Claudette Larochelle (Reg), Gerard (Gerry) St. Onge predeceased, and Elaine Loyer predeceased (Conrad). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Cherished Grandpa of Kurtis Jessy Kaitlin and Sabrina. Great grandfather of Geneva.
Ernie was a kind and generous man who touched the lives of many people throughout his life. Ernie had a lifelong love of trucks, cars and racing. One of his special treasures was his 1956 Ford. He also had a passion for horses. He had 2 which brought him joy.
Above all Ernie will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as a generous man with a kind heart. His love for his interests and the friendships he formed over the years were an important part of who he was.
Though he is no longer with us the memories of his life, and the kindness he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace Dad you will always be loved, forever remembered, and deeply missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Ernie held on Sunday October 18, 2026 from 1-5 pm at Club 50 at 25 Main St W behind St Joseph Parish in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations can be made directly to Maison McCullough Hospice and would be greatly appreciated.
