Bertha Fortin, 84, wife, mother, grandmother, best friend, passed away gently on a beautiful sunny day in Sudbury. Born in Blind River to the late Herman and Rita (Jones) French. Wife to the late Hector Fortin for 56 years. Loving mother to Edward (Angela), Ronald (Roxane), and Suzanne. The most amazing grandmother to Jason and Chantalle (Jaryd).
Bertha lived a full life raising her children and being a big part of her grandchildren’s lives. She created beautiful wedding cakes for so many people, and dances through the town selling Avon for many years. She always had an open door for her nieces and nephews. Bertha retired and continued her love for ice fishing, passion for baking, quilting, and the next adventure. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
All are welcome to join the service at St. James The Greater Church 44 Lakeside Ave, Blind River, ON on Saturday, October 24, 2026 commencing at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the church hall.
