Mary Darlene Landriault, a remarkable woman whose presence brightened the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully at Espanola General Hospital on September 8, 2026. Born on January 13, 1944, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Mary was a cherished daughter of the late Marshall and Oneta Harman (nee Whalen). Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Wanda Moffatt, Carol Anne Monk (Bruce), and Edward John Landriault (Tracy). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Brandon Mitchell, Kayla Mitchell, Shauna Landriault (Jean), Alex Landriault, James Moffatt (Karen), Jon Moffatt (Mir), Jocelyn Moffatt (Frank), Joleen Moffatt (Darrel), and Cheyanne Monk. Mary is also survived by her dear brother, Patrick Harman. She is predeceased by her siblings Dolores Sanftenburg (nee Harman), Linda O'Halloran (nee Harman), Michael Harman, and Sydney Lynn Harman. Mary's life was characterized by her unwavering passion for the outdoors. As an avid hunter and fisherwoman, she found joy in the natural world, whether gardening, splitting wood, or riding her quad. Her love for ice fishing, often on her Yamaha Bravo, was well-known among family and friends. Mary was a woman of many talents; she could knit, crochet, bake, and even repair small engines and handle a chainsaw with remarkable skill. Her career was as diverse as her interests, and she held various jobs throughout her lifetime, including at Bishops Pro Hardware in Spanish. Mary's work ethic and dedication were evident in all she did. Mary was a pillar of her community and a staunch member of the Roman Catholic Church at the Walford Parish. She was also a lifetime member of the Woman's Institute in Walford, where her contributions and leadership were greatly valued. In honoring her memory, the family expresses deep gratitude to the wonderful staff at HSN and Espanola General Hospital, Dr. Bignocolo, Bayshore, Manitoulin-Sudbury EMS, and Community Paramedicine for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Walford Community Center, an organization close to Mary's heart. Mary Darlene Landriault's spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire for generations to come.
