Prudhomme, Jean Paul

In Loving Memory of Jean Paul Prudhomme

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Paul Prudhomme, who passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026.

Jean Paul faced many struggles throughout his life, but if there was one thing that defined him, it was his incredible resilience. No matter what challenges came his way, Jean Paul continued to face each day with a smile. His strength, determination and joyful spirit touched the lives of so many who had the privilege of knowing him.

For many years, Jean Paul was a familiar and much loved presence throughout downtown. He was always out and about, travelling the streets with his walker, greeting people and living life on his own terms. He became a familiar face in the community and will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Jean Paul was especially fortunate to have the love and support of his nephew Marc and Peggy Prudhomme, whom he considered his family and who were always there for him. He will also be lovingly remembered by their children, Katie (Dave) and Isaac (Michelle).

A heartfelt and sincere thank you goes to the caring staff at Sudbury Community Service Centre and at York Extendicare for the compassion, kindness, and support they provided to Jean Paul throughout his life.

Jean Paul was predeceased by his parents, Diane and Alfred Prudhomme, and by his siblings Marcel, Raymond, Gaetan, Denis, Art, Mavis, Louise, Susan, Yvette, Roger, and Leo.

He is survived by his siblings John (Richard), Andre, Jeanine, Diane, and Lorraine, as well as by the many people whose lives he touched along the way.

Jean Paul’s cremation has taken place. A burial of his cremated remains will take place in Sturgeon Falls at a later date.

Rest peacefully, Jean Paul. You will be missed.
