In the early morning of Monday August 10, 2026 Wayne John Fournier, 68 years passed at the Maison McCulloch Hospice in the presence of his loving sister’s Lynn and Sue.
Wayne was the loving son of the late Arthur and Carmen Fournier. He leaves behind his son Josh, his brother Greg (Marcia), and his sisters, Lynn and Sue (Chris). Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his cousin Steve, with whom he had a special bond.
Wayne was born and raised in Sudbury but with an adventurous heart and love of the outdoors moved to Alberta in his early twenties where he enjoyed the mountains, rivers and streams for 40 plus years.
Fly fishing became a passion of Wayne’s and in the presence of his loyal friend Don, fittingly his ashes will be spread in the Bow River at a later date.
Wayne was truly a gentle, kind-hearted soul who would give you the shirt off his back.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, PSW’s, Doctor’s and staff at the hospice. Their care and compassion went above and beyond expectations for our brother.
We are grateful that Wayne received this end-of-life care and support.
Should donations be considered, support for Maison McCulloch Hospice https://maisonsudburyhospice.org/donate/ in Wayne’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
At Wayne’s request, there will be no service or visitation.
