(August 31, 1947 - June 9, 2026)
It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene Riddell announce her sudden and unexpected passing Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Health Sciences North Emergency Care.
Beloved wife of Ross Riddell (predeceased) of Naughton. Loving mother of David of Barrie and Michael (partner Shannon) of Okotoks. Dear daughter of Guy and Viola (Crowder) Armstrong. Dear sister of Floyd (Shurley, both predeceased), Helen (Ron Watkinson, both predeceased), Mervin, Don (Karen), Wilma (predeceased, Jim Jacklin), Larry (Roxanne), Darrell (Holly), and Bruce. Special auntie to Shannon and Olivia Pattison. Special great auntie to Rhett and Hank (Olivia).
Born and raised in Parry Sound, Ontario, Marlene spent the majority of her life living in Naughton, Ontario, maintaining a loving and caring home and doting on her two boys. She is best known for her friendly, outgoing and easy to talk to personality. She enjoyed spending her summers at her trailer on Manitoulin Island where she was well known by her fellow campers. She also enjoyed knitting various items for friends and family as well for the homeless and maternity ward.
Marlene was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and although gone, she will never be forgotten and will live on in our memories.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation or the War Amps would be appreciated.
