In loving memory of Robert (Bob) Charbonneau who passed away suddenly at his home in Hanmer, Ontario, on May 12, 2026, at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Claire (Normore) Charbonneau. Dear son of the late Mary Jane (Leduc) and Oscar Charbonneau. Cherished brother of Claire Woodward (Chuck), Gloria Hines (Terry, predeceased), Jack (Lynne), Laurie Maltby (Jim), Louise Willcock (Dave), John, and Joan Chatfield (predeceased) (Troy). Dear son-in-law of Sheila and Angus Normore (both predeceased) and brother-in-law of Kevin Normore. Treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob worked for the CN Railway and retired as an Engineer in 2008. He always looked forward to catching up with his railroad buddies at the annual CN pensioner’s party.
He will be remembered as a thoughtful, kind and gentle giant. Bob was a very generous person who devoted a lot of time and energy to helping family and friends. He was a happy go lucky person and was a great storyteller – his many mishaps and adventures during his youth and adulthood made us all laugh to tears.
Bob loved nature and was an avid outdoorsman. He liked hunting season but enjoyed fishing the most, especially with his best friends Jason and Gerry, or his brothers. He was always willing to share his fishing tactics with anyone who would listen.
Bob was very proud of his home and maintained an impeccable yard, all the while caring for the birds and wildlife visiting his property. He enjoyed gardening and shared his garlic and other vegetables with many. He was also the head chef at home.
Overall, Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with Claire and their fur babies Lexi, Brody, and Harley and their many other beloved dogs throughout the years, the first being Taffy.
We will all miss him dearly, but he will live on in our hearts and memories forever!
Donations in Bob’s memory to Pet Save or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a later date.

So deeply sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. Such a big loss will be felt by Claire and family. May all the wonderful memories fill a big part of your heart and provide comfort on those hard days Prayers and our sincere condolences. Joanne and Domiica
