It is with profound sadness that the family of Maureen Blakely (nee DeFelice) announce her passing on May 13th at 71 years of age. Dear daughter of the late George and Mary DeFelice. Special daughter-in-law of the late Brock and Marguerite Blakely. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Arden of 45 years. Loving and proud mother to Matthew Blakely (Christine) and Stephanie Boyuk (John). Adored grandmother to Devon, Cohen and Emiry. Big sister to Paul DeFelice and Greg DeFelice (Barb). Dear sister-in-law to Barb, Karen (predeceased) and Ruth (Graham). Sadly missed by nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends.
Maureen was the heart of her family and a cherished friend to many. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by the people she loved, especially her beloved grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Her kindness, generosity, and thoughtful spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a remarkable way of making others feel cared for, welcomed, and loved. She made a special effort to stay close with her extended family, always reaching out and keeping those connections strong no matter the distance or time apart. Over the years, she formed deep and lasting friendships that brought her great joy and companionship, and her life was enriched by a close circle of friends who became like family. Her presence will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.

Maureen was the most unpretentious, kind and gentle woman I have ever known. I truly wish I could be more like her. All of my memories of Maureen are lovely ones. What a beautiful legacy! My condolences to her family and close friends. I’ve no doubt she will be sorely missed.
