With sadness and broken hearts, the family announces the passing of Gerald John “Gerry” Dolynchuk, 70 years, on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 at Health Sciences North. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. In his final moments, Gerry was comfortable and free from pain, leaving the world quietly and held in the hearts of those who loved him. Beloved partner of Catherine Deschamps. Loving stepfather of Patrick McGuire (Victoria Proulx). Proud grandfather of Sophia Fortier. Loving father of Eli Dolynchuk, Ashley Dolynchuk, and Drew Dolynchuk (predeceased). Dear son of Mary (née Pilotte) and Michael Dolynchuk both predeceased. Dear brother of Bruce Dolynchuk (Claudette), Norm Dolynchuk, Danny Dolynchuk (predeceased), and Darlene Quinn (Roger). Sadly missed by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gerry was a real estate agent, broker, promoter, and developer in Sudbury for many years. Gerry loved music, especially Elvis Presley, and he never missed an opportunity to perform as his idol. Gerry had a big heart, and he would never let anyone go hungry, always wanting to feed everybody. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Gerry’s death leaves a hole that can never be filled. He leaves behind shattered hearts, loving memories, and a family forever grateful for the time they shared with him. He had a huge impact on the lives around him, and the memories he created will be loved and shared long after his passing.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at the Trevi Restaurant, 1855 Lasalle Blvd., on Saturday, June 20th, 2026 from 1pm-3pm, and friends and family are invited to come and share stories about Gerry. Rest in peace, Gerry. You will be missed.
