It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dan. Dan passed away at Health Science North on March 26, 2026 with family by his side. Dan grew up in the Sudbury area and worked for Technica Mining as heavy equipment mechanic. He was good at his job and truly enjoyed and proud of his work. Dan had a big heart and was always there for anyone anytime. He enjoyed spending time at camp. Whether in the garage with buddies, fishing in the boat with his wife, helping the campground friends, usually with beer in hand, it was always a good time in his happy place. His laugh was infectious. After his diagnosis he only had one wish that was to be married to his one true love Lise. He was truly proud to wear that wedding ring right to his last minute. He fought hard for a very short time, but his illness took him away from us.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and cherished memories that will live on in our hearts. So, grab a beer in hand, and cheer to the man, we called Dan.
He leaves behind his wonderful wife Lise Martin, mother Velma Blancher, predeceased by his father Daniel Gauthier SR, sisters Carol Laprairie (Joey), Nancy Gauthier (Pascal), Laura Forsyth (Brian), Dan will be missed by all aunts and uncle's, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also will be missed by his 8 grandchildren.
