It is with profound sadness that the family of Guy Levasseur announces his passing on March 6th, 2026 in Sudbury, Ontario. Guy left this world peacefully at the age of 60, closing a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion, and a generous heart.
Guy was the beloved husband of Melanie Levasseur (née Tooley), with whom he shared a life built on love, partnership, and unwavering support. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Georgette Levasseur (née Doyon), predeceased by his father, André Levasseur. Guy will be honoured in memory by Barry Tooley, his father-in-law, and Betty Tooley, his mother-in-law. He was a cherished brother to Gloria (Larry Dupuis), Marc (Sherry Paris), and Yvon; brother-in-law to Marilyn McBride and Lianne Tooley. Guy was a proud and loving uncle to Renée Levasseur and André Levasseur (Emily Ouimet), Ryan Tooley (Beth Tooley), Ashley McBride, Jessica Laliberte (Chris Laliberte), and Amber Tooley (Matt O’Flynn) and he leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and a great nephew as well as many great friends who will feel his absence deeply.
Those who knew Guy will remember him as a devoted husband and a man who found joy in the simple, grounding pleasures of life. He loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling were not just hobbies, but ways he connected with nature and the people he cared about. Above all, he will be remembered for his warm and infectious laugh. When Guy laughed, everyone around him laughed too.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Monique St. Martin, the dedicated staff of Canadian Shield Health Care, ParaMed Home Healthcare, and the compassionate nurses at SJCCC. Their care, support, and kindness over the past years brought comfort and dignity to Guy and his loved ones.
In keeping with Guy’s wishes and the family’s desire for a quiet moment of remembrance, a private gathering of the immediate family will be held at a later date to honour his life and legacy.
Guy will be remembered for his warmth, his loyalty, and the quiet but powerful way he showed his love. His presence will be missed, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to guide and comfort those who loved him.
