Lalande, Réjean Marcel (Reg)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Réjean (Reg) Marcel Lalande, on February 10th, 2026, at the age of 78, following a brief illness.

A miner, gifted construction contractor, jack of all trades, chaplain, and reverend, he poured his heart and soul into everything he did — building, fixing, guiding, and caring for others. He had a quick wit, a great sense of humour, and a gift for making people feel seen and heard. He loved adventure and travel, the outdoors, and spending time hunting and fishing with family and friends. Always ready to help others, he lived a life full of purpose and connection.

He leaves behind his loving daughters Natalie Lamondin (Mike); Milène St. Germain (Peter); his granddaughter Cierra St. Germain (Phil); and his grandson Evan Lamondin. He also leaves his brother Armand Lalande (Paula), sisters Linda Lalande and Jo-Anne Lalande (Brad), and nephews and nieces; and friends who were like family. He was also a proud stepdad and step-grandpa to many other children and grandchildren.

A special thank you to Cousin Paul Lalande and Cousin Gerry Lalande for all the wonderful things you did for and with Dad. The family also thanks the Paramedicine Program (Mathieu) in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario Health at Home, and the Sturgeon Falls Hospital for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Soup Kitchen https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/blue-door-soup-kitchen/  or the Go Give Project https://thegogiveproject.org/get-involved/#donate,  reflecting Dad’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

He built many things in his lifetime — homes, projects, ministries, and community — but his greatest construction was the foundation of love he leaves behind.

Interment and a celebration of life will be held in the spring, so that family and friends may gather to honour and remember him.

Forever loved. Forever remembered♥

  4. If I could send a prayer up that reached directly to your heart, thank you for caring so deeply and strongly for those around you. Thank you for everything you’ve done for my mom, you have no idea what it means to me. I hope these prayers carry you to the other side quickly, say hi to pepere for me. Sending you and your loved ones so much love. There’s a truely beautiful balance, as heavy as the world turns without you here, the other side gains this weight in light, they’re so lucky to have you there but you surely will be missed here cousin.

  5. So sorry to hear about Reg passing.

I will always remember the fishing trip that Reg took my brother Don and I on when we were younger. It was a real adventure for us to be dropped off in the woods by train, and then fishing at the remote cabin. Wonderful memories with Reg.

  6. Natalie and family,

I am so sorry to hear about Reg’s passing. I had the opportunity to get to know him over the years through his work at CHS and during his visits to our workplace. He certainly left a lasting impression — he had a warmth and kindness about him with a playful spirit, and a wonderful sense of humour.

Please know that I’m thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. Wishing you comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead.

  7. Losing you has left a hole in my heart that words will never quite fill, but I choose to remember you with the love and joy you gave so freely.

I remember you walking me up and down the hallway when I was little and sick, so that Mom could get a break. That was you… always thinking of others and giving from the heart.

I remember helping you with your theology thesis at the University of London. We had the most meaningful conversations about life, religion, and the things that truly matter. Those talks shaped me more than you likely knew. I will always cherish the Course in Miracles book you gave me and the wisdom you shared.

You were an incredible brother. We shared the best heart-to-hearts, and my respect for you was endless. In my eyes, you could do no wrong.

Thank you for your love, guidance, and laughter. I just wish we had more time.

I love you, Reg… “mon frère”.
