With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, Margaret Anne Tikkanen on Friday, January 23, 2026. She was 82.
She was a devoted wife to Kal, a devoted daughter to Carl and Audrey and dear sister to Carol, Christine, Ingrid, Callie, and Glenda.
She leaves behind her children, Andrew (Nikki) a Susan (Lee). Her greatest joy were her grandchildren, Rebecca (Daniel), Brandon, and Kellen (Emma).
We will miss her dearly and she is now at peace with our father.
A private family service will be held later this year.
I met Peggy many years ago at the Taxation Centre, I was the Manager of the Cash Section and Peggy worked there in the Deposit Unit. She played a key role in making the daily deposit, a deposit that always was in the tens of millions of dollars. Your mother was an excellent staff member, Peggy was capable, competent, diligent and despite the pressure of her job, pleasant. My condolences to your families and may Peggy rest in peace.
