Our dear father, James (Jim) Fowler sadly passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4th, 2025 at the age of 83.
Born on September 29, 1942 to parents Nicholas and Sarah (Walker) Fowler (predeceased), in Bishop Falls Nfld. Jim was a proud father of Lillian, Nancy, and Shane (Cindy). He was so happy to be grandfather to Sara, Abby, Kylee, Kole, and Keegan. Survived by brothers Gerald (Wendy) Fowler and by sisters Dolores (Lucien) Daoust and Sharon. Predeceased by daughter Lillian, son in law David von Roenn, sisters Laura, Carmel, Regina, Sheila, Angela, Barbara, and brothers Raymond and Kevin Fowler.
Jim was a great dad, grandfather, brother, friend and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed traveling to casinos across the U.S. and Canada with his wife, Rita, and loved card games and parties. He was a person who truly enjoyed a social life and family gathering.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at 11am in St. Alexander Church, 100 Gaudette St, Chelmsford, On, POM 1LO, with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice Sudbury would be appreciated.
Your loss is deeply felt, and my thoughts are with you. He was the most thoughtful and kindest man I’ve ever known. I’m grateful that I had the chance to know him. My sincere sympathy.
