It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin Joseph Patrick Mulrooney, affectionately known as “Cowboy,” on October 9th, 2025, at the age of 70. He was a man of warmth, humour, and generosity, known for his cowboy hat and boots, his love of bingo and laughter, his daily affirmations of love, and above all, his unwavering devotion to his family.

He is survived by his devoted daughter Tammy Mulrooney O’Brien (husband Michael), his beloved grandchildren Taylor O’Brien (wife Senna), Kaylie O’Brien, Kaitlyn O’Brien, and his cherished great-grandchild Odin O’Brien, his loving siblings brother Lester Mulrooney (wife Marlyn), brother John Mulrooney (wife Phoebe), sister Cecilia Sanderson (boyfriend JF Robitaille), sister Barbara Stead (husband Walter), sister Gloria Cramer (husband Keith), brother George Mulrooney (deceased), many nieces and nephews and close friends and his dear friend Peggy Kolppanen, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Predeceased by his parents, father Kevin Mulrooney, mother Winifred Mulrooney, and cherished son Darren Mulrooney.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral. Friends and family are warmly welcome to attend the burial (at a later date) and join us in remembering this amazing man, “Cowboy” Kevin.

In lieu of flowers, and to honour the kindness and love he shared so freely with his family, friends, and others, donations may be made directly to the Sudbury Food Bank in memory of “Cowboy” Kevin Mulrooney.

A letter to my dad:

Dear Dad,

You said “I love you, Hunny” every single day, and I carry that love in every way.

I’ll miss your silly jokes, your cowboy boots and hat, and the way you made everyone laugh.

You were my hero, my heart, my safe place, my dad.

My heart will miss your heart FOREVER.

I love you always and forever,

Tammy
