It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon (Gord) Pedersen Jr., who passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 54.
Gord was the cherished friend and devoted partner of 36 years to Yvonne Lamoureux, and the best “fur baby daddy” to his beloved pets Annie, Harley, Tikki, Chancey, and Cici—each of whom held a special place in his heart (allergic or not)
He will be deeply missed by his father, Gordon Pedersen Sr., and is predeceased by his loving mother, Frances (2009). Gord is also survived by his brother Richard (Pauline) and his sister Shari. He was a beloved uncle to Ashley (Mika), Corey and Amber (Mike), each of whom he adored. He will also be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Jeaninne Lamoureux and is predeceased by his father-in-law Romeo Lamoureux (2014). Gord shared many good times with his brother-in-law Richard Lamoureux (Therese) and extended family.
For over 20 years, Gord worked at Vale, spending time at various mines, with Totten Mine being the last. During his career he built lasting friendships and was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. He was eagerly looking forward to retirement and the chance to spend more time pursuing his passion for hunting, fishing, relaxing and making memories at the couple’s beloved property in Evansville on Manitoulin Island and enjoying the music that brought him so much joy.
Gord had a big heart and was always ready to help those in need. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his generosity, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Pet Save https://petsavesudbury.com/donate and/or the Canadian Diabetes Association https://www.diabetes.ca/ in his memory.
He is now resting peacefully with his mother and his beloved pets Tico, Katie, Kisha, and Daisy.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful neighbors, friends as well as his work family at Totten for their kindness, support and care during this difficult time.
