October 29, 1948-July 19, 2025
From sunrise Oct 29, 1948, to sunset July 19, 2025, God who gave me life, numbered my days. Now, He has taken me home where believers are reunited with God in heaven. He chose my family: parents Marcel and Lucienne (Bellemare) of Rouyn-Noranda and later younger brothers Alain, Ron (Myette), and my favorite sister, France. At age 15, I attended seminary for two years. Then, I joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at age 17, where I was an honor graduate in training, served for ten years, left at the request of my first wife Lucille, and remained a proud veteran. We had two daughters, Anik and Katie while I worked long hours as owner of a Harvey’s franchise in London, Ontario. I later became Chief Accountant Officer for Selbaie and Agnico mine before becoming Chief Administrator for accounting at Dubreuil Forest Products. Later, my love for the forest led to developing my own company, Northern Quality Cedar. During this time, I was focused on being a good provider, adopted Martin and Yan (mother, Lorraine) and was divorced and widowed twice.
God blessed my broken road in Nov 2005 when I gave my heart and life to Jesus. My life changed as I focused on relationships, married Annie, became a father figure to Laura, and proud ‘papa’ of Jeremy, Jennifer, Michael, and Derek Killam; Every Rose Boucher (Martin); Canadian grandfather to Radwan from Jordan; and God-father to Leah, in Nova Scotia. I am thankful for good friends: Rick who introduced me to my veteran family; Pastor Stephen, Rene, Wally, Herve; my canine buddies Kelsey and Teddy Bear; and for the ‘village’ of community support services during my illnesses. Special thanks to the Department of Veterans Affairs and their staff. My relationship with God changed my relationship with others and my life.
I was given a great love for the forest and the great out-doors. God kept me safe during many long days on the road and has been faithful through illness.
Now, God has taken me ‘home.’ Instead of saying ‘Goodbye’ I am saying ‘See you later!” Please join my celebration of life on August 9th, at 1000 am at New Life Christian Center, a school building, at 4032 Regional Rd 35, Chelmsford, on the main highway, just before the lights.
Gerry, your presence is missed. Absent from body, at home with the Lord! The church ladies are working on a lovely memorial Aug 9th, that it is a blessing to the family and a beautiful summary of many parts of your life to be discovered by those who only knew you as an ‘older gentleman’.
