January 9, 1963 – June 1, 2025
With our saddest hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Carmen Micallef, also lovingly known as Trish—a woman of incredible strength, deep love, and many beautiful passions. Patricia passed away surrounded by love after a courageous and dignified battle with stage four lung cancer. In the end, it was not the cancer that took her, but a sudden and unexpected medical complication.
Patricia was a woman of depth—fierce, nurturing, creative, and always true to herself. A gifted poet, she achieved one of her greatest dreams shortly before her passing: publishing her poetry book, I Rose Above, Yet I Was Broken. Her words spoke of survival, pain, hope, and heart—and will live on as a tribute to her powerful spirit.
She had a fiery love for fishing and cars, a strong voice in politics, and was never afraid to stand firm in what she believed in. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she found peace and beauty. Her heart beat to the rhythms of rap and reggae, her playlists always full of life and soul. Patricia also had a deep and personal faith in God, which helped guide her through even the hardest days.
She was the kind of person who showed up for everyone—cheering us on from the sidelines, whether it was sports, life events, or simple everyday moments. Her presence was loud, proud, and full of love.
Patricia was a devoted mother to four children with Terrance Neil (Terry), who was not only her co-parent but also her lifelong best friend for over 40 years. Together, they raised Matthew Neil, Jeremy Neil, Dezzeray Martel, and Terrence Neil with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
She was also a proud and adoring Nana to her grandchildren, Nevaeh and Dimitri. They were the light of her life. Whether it was offering gentle advice, dancing in the kitchen, laughing over little things, or simply cuddling up—her bond with them was deep and unconditional. She also shared a close, loving relationship with her son-in-law, Alain Martel, who she spoke of often with pride and gratitude. She was so proud to have him as part of the family.
For the past 12 years, Patricia found a cherished companionship with her dear best friend Mike Ruest, who brought her peace, strength, and unwavering support. She also shared a heartfelt and special bond with Brianne Ruest, who added joy and connection to her life.
Patricia was the beloved sister of Jeannie, and a proud sister to her brothers: Nick, Norman, Albert, and Roy. Her world was full of meaningful friendships, deep family ties, and a heart that made space for everyone.
Patricia Carmen Micallef will forever be remembered for her fearless spirit, poetic soul, deep compassion, and unmatched love. Her energy, her laughter, her stories, and her unwavering loyalty will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will also be greatly missed by her two loyal dogs, Jasmine and Chance, who were always by her side and brought her comfort, joy, and unconditional love.
A special thank you to Intensive Health Care for your compassion, support, and dignity in Patricia’s final days. Your kindness brought comfort and peace to both Patricia and our family, and we will be forever grateful
