Spotswood, Robert “Bob”

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob (Spotty) Spotswood on May 13th 2025, surrounded by his loving wife Judy and dear friends Marcel and Debbie.

Bob was a devoted husband to Judy (née Leclair) for 58 years and is now reunited with his loving son Dean (predeceasedin 2019). Bob was the caring son of Tom and Flora (both predeceased) and brother to Ken (Carol) (predeceased). Dear son in law of Fred and Verra Leclair (both predeceased). Loving brother-in-law to Gary Leclair (Joan) and Sandra (predeceased). Special uncle Bob to his nieces and nephews Dennis, David, Ken, Kim, Kelly, Korene, and Tracy.

Bob was a dedicated employee for Falconbridge retiring in 1998. Bobby was a proud member of the Coniston Curling Club, where he earned his two eight enders. Bob, also known as “The boss,” on the course, was also a proud member of Twin Stacks as well as a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus, Council 6074 Sudbury.

Bob was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He and Judy loved to travel, often frequenting casinos. Bobby was a dedicated Montreal Canadiens fan.

Please join us for a memorial mass on Friday, June 20th at 11am in St. Paul the Apostle Church, 30 Cedar St., Coniston. Friends and family are invited to gather at 10:30. Lunch to follow at The Colonial Inn in Coniston.

Donations could be made in Bob’s honor to the Maison McCulloch Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services., Ltd.

  4. I grew up across the street from Bob in Coniston. He was just a terrific friend and neighbour. We shared so many good times together including a memorable family trip to the East Coast. Bob was truly a good man and friend and his presence will be missed.

  10. Judy: We were profoundly saddened by the news of Bob’s passing. We are holding you close in our thoughts and our prayers as you navigate this difficult time. The world will certainly not be the same without his quick wit and keen sense of humour. We will continue to cherish our memories of him, especially Glen, … Oh the mischief and chuckles he and Spotty shared in their years working together at Falconbridge!!!
