Barrette, Yvan

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Yvan Joseph Andrew Barrette on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the age of 72 years in Sudbury, Ontario. He was well cared for by the palliative care staff on 4 North at the Health Science North hospital before his losing battle with ALS. He will be missed by his beloved wife of 36 years Jancis Barrette, as well as his two beautiful daughters, Nikki Dionne, and Monica Barrette. Yvan was born in Ville Marie, Quebec, where he left home at an early age to pursue work in the mining field here in Sudbury, Ontario. He and his wife have lived in the Valley East community, north of the city of Sudbury for over 30 years. He was a strong, hard-working individual both at home and on the job right up until the day he passed. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop as well as always staying active with daily morning stretches, walks, and summer bike rides. Yvan will be sadly missed, not only by his family, but also by his three grandchildren, his remaining living brothers, and sisters as well as by everyone who knew him. As part of Yvan’s wishes there will be no funeral service. May we all find solace knowing that he is at peace watching from above.
