It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice Séguin on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the age of 85.  Predeceased by his parents Henri and Ida (née Regimbald) Séguin.

He leaves behind his wife of 62 years Lucia (née Thomas) in the loving care of his family. He was a loving father to Monique (Ian), Robert, Leo (Serafina) and Julie (Stacy). He will continue to live on through his grandchildren Danielle, Bradley, Lee, Sadie, Serena, Matteo, Cameron, Cody, Jack and Oliver. He is survived by his sisters Denise (Rosaire Roy), Suzanne (John Blaikie) and sister-in-law Béatrice. He peacefully joins the following siblings and their spouses in the afterlife, André, Bernard (Laurette), Claire (Bernard Richer).

Maurice and Lucia built a life together in the Sudbury area after moving from Ottawa in 1965.  His focus was time with family which on most nights meant coffee and cards.  As an INCO retiree he continued to travel across Canada as he taught the next generations all of his card tips and tricks maintaining the value of quality time.  He raised his children in his image, some have his caring and patient nature while others have his wit and happy go lucky attitude.  He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a blood donation at Canadian Blood Services or a donation to Maison McCulloch Hospice.

A Celebration of Maurice’s Life will take place at a later date.
