It is with great sorrow the family announces her passing away peacefully on Saturday, September 5th, 2015 at Health Sciences North at the age of 88. Born in Feldkirchen, Karnten, Austria on May 1, 1927, she moved to Canada in 1953 and married Kurt Wirnsperger who predeceased her in 1995. Loving mother of Kurt Jr. (predeceased 1964) and Ralph of Sudbury. Cherished Oma of Shane, Troy, Mathew, Jessica and Blane. She worked as a Lab Technician at the I.N.C.O. clinic for many years. She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and summers at her home on Lake Wahnapitae. Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare York and the 6th floor nursing staff at Health Sciences North for their care and compassion. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private family memorial will be held in May.

We are so saddened to learn of your loss. Lia had a strong, independent spirit and it was something I’ve always admired about her. Our condolences at this sad time and prayers are sent your way with the hope that your hearts will dry their tears and smile again.
