Teddy, Douglas Brian “Doug”

Surrounded by his family, Doug Teddy, 73 years passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Faye (Thorpe) Teddy. Loving father of Blayne Teddy (Shannon), Jodie Gibson (Mike) and Bryan Teddy (Marnie). Cherished grandfather of Riley, Samantha, Callie, Malcolm and Sarah. Born in Sudbury, he was the son of the late Stanley and Margaret (Blais) Teddy. Dear brother of Earl Teddy (Maria – predeceased), Jean Hobden (Tracy) and Wayne Teddy (Judy). He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews. An electrician by trade, Doug worked at INCO for 30 dedicated years, retiring in 1995. His passion for his work didn’t slow him down as he continued providing his expertise for an additional couple of years following his retirement. Doug was an avid outdoorsman enjoying time camping, hunting and fishing. As the owner of a small sawmill, he took great pride in cutting lumber for his family and friends. He was a gifted “tinkerer” who had the ability to create something out of nothing. Genealogy was a very important part of Doug’s past-time and he has left a tremendous gift for his family to appreciate. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the family residence on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

  4. It is with a heavy heart I send our deepest condolences. I got my first car from Uncle Doug, fond memories of trips out to the house, learned to drive a car out there, shot my first “real” gun out there. Special times with special family. Wish I could be there with you all at this difficult time. Uncle Doug will always be in my memories and stories of growing up in Sudbury. Miss and Love you all.
