In Loving memory of John Sykes, 93 years. Beloved husband of Vida for 67 years. Loving father of Robert Sykes(Connie), Patricia Grace(Tom), Susanne Polley(David) and Jennifer Garrett. Cherished grandfather of Lenea, Kate, Pamela, Sarah, Meagan, Andrew, Scott, Lauren and Craig. Great grandfather of four. John was a respected Insurance Broker who started Sykes Insurance in 1947. As a long standing member of the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club for over 50 years, John was a competitive golfer and curler. He was an excellent hockey player who enjoyed the game throughout his life. John spent many happy summers at Long Lake with his family. A friend to many and a family man at heart, John’s legacy lives on in his family and our shared memories of his humour, generosity and love. At John’s request, there will only be a private family gathering.
