Lindroos, Martti - The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Martti Lindroos on Oct 30, 2015 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 73, following a quick battle with cancer. Son of the late Otto and Vieno (nee Jouteaho) Lindroos of Karstula Finland.
Beloved husband of 49 years to Aira (nee Tolppila) Lindroos. Loving father of
Leila (Jukka) Ovaska, Hannu (Mary Ellen Shepley) Lindroos and Timo (Mary-Lou) Lindroos. Cherished Pappa to Tiia, Janne, Luukas, Niko Ovaska, Colby Lindroos, Jasmine, Matthias and Mikko Lindroos. Cherished brother to Voitto (Liisa) Lindroos and uncle to Eliisa (Ben) Petersen, Kari (Pauline) Lindroos and Mike Lindroos. Great uncle to Erika and Thomas Petersen, Katherine, Eve and Kyle Lindroos. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the dedicated staff of the Palliative Care Floor at Health Sciences North Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at Siion Pentecostal Church, 1843 Paris St., Sudbury, ON November 19, 2015 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sudbury Food Bank https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/banque-daliments-sudbury-food-bank/

  1. Dear Aira, Hannu, Leila and Timo, and All Your Family Members:

    As neighbours all those years, and with Hannu’s and David’s life-long strong friendship, we got to know Hannu so well, and Leila too; we mostly knew Timo as a baby/young child. Martti and Aira worked so hard all their lives, but it was such a pleasure to get to know Aira later on when she (learned English and) became the front-line person in your business. Sadly we hardly knew Martti. We certainly knew he had a wonderfully inventive mind and entrepreneurial spirit and that ‘work’ was his middle name. We are sad to have learned that illness took him so quickly. May your special memories of Martti be a comfort to you.
