Giroux, Laurier

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Laurier Giroux, 62 years, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his residence with family by his side. Born in Sudbury, he is the dear son of René and Joan (née Grenier) Giroux. Beloved husband and best friend to Joanne (née Proulx) Giroux. Forever loved by his children: Angela Giroux (Sean), Natalie Parent (Richard) and Shane Giroux (Julie). Cherished grandfather of Vanessa, Colton, Kaleigh, Joshua, Zachary and Lexis. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Hélène Démoré (Leo), Diane Giroux (predeceased), Monique Giroux, Suzanne Giroux, Richard Giroux (Joanne), Gaetanne Poitras (Gaetan), Luc Giroux and Lynne Brown (Peter). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. A well-respected Supervisor with Pioneer Construction, where Laurier dedicated 41 years of service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors but what brought him his greatest joys in life were the times he was able to spend with family, especially his grandchildren. The Giroux family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Northeast Cancer Centre, Pioneer, family and friends for all their unwavering support during Laurier’s difficult battle with cancer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Paroisse St Jacques, 46 Cote Blvd, Hanmer on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laurier’s memory can be made directly to the Northeast Cancer Foundation.
