  1. Dear Barb & family.
My condolences for Steve’s passing. My prayers are with you. Steve and Barb were a team, meant for each other from the day they met. They shared a love and friendship that was special and true. He was a wonderful husband, a great father & grandfather and friend to everyone. I understand and share the loss.

Steve and I met in 1948 when I lived with the Ferguson family in Gogama. We’ve been friends ever since. He and I were cousins through marriage. We had many unforgettable times together and with the rest of the family. Christmases at Ferguson’s with his dad & mom and family and innumerable friends were special. His mom’s turkey dinner and tourtieres were mouthwatering. Unfrogettable. Donald and Evelyn sang Christmas carols and everyone joined in. Very special times. Very wonderful memories of a superb family.

We’ll miss you Steve. Be well and be in peace.

  2. Dear Aunty Barb, Ken, Steve, Jamie, and family,

It is with the deepest of condolences that I write this note to all of you. I had a childhood full of the fondest memories of Uncle Steve. He was such a supportive man, always encouraging our free spirits and sense of adventure. We spent so many days all together at the farm and he was always such a source of fun and laughter. I also recall always being welcomed at Uncle’s and Aunty’s store with a happy smile and a fresh donut. He had a special way of making everybody feel so welcomed. He and the store are a big part of so many peoples’ childhood memories, my own included, and great memories they are. I am so grateful to have had these moments spent with my Uncle Steve and I will always cherish them dearly. Time and distance has come between us but I wanted you to know that he, and all of you, remain in my heart forever.

    Much love,
    Paul

  7. My sincere condolences.
My group of friends and I called Steve…Mr. Ferg. I remember him with great fondness. I had some of the most memorable times of my life with him and my very good friend Jamie. The old time piano and the song of Valencia was an amazing evening that we all shared among many other nights. I have great respect for Mr Ferg, I did not see him as Jamie’s father but rather as a friend. I am saddened by his loss but enlightened by having shared in his life. I raise a Molson Canadian to you
my friend and I say “well done Mr Ferg.”

    With love Mark
