On October 7, 2018, Joan Block (Dodie), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband Frank Block. She is lovingly remembered by her children Peter (Louise), Gary (Linda) and her grandchildren Chris (Elisa), Tiffany, Lauren (Mitch) Vermue, David (Tara), Anya (Philip) Perivolaris and 3 great- grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Yvonne (Robert predeceased) and Joyce (predeceased) (Gordon) Wilkinson. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and very special friend to Joan and her family, Jane Young. Joan led by example. She was so proud of her family’s accomplishments and made everyone feel like her favourite. Joan always managed a smile to lift our spirits. She was filled with grace and humility yet maintained her strong will to her peaceful passing. She will always be in our hearts. We greatly appreciate all the support care and compassion from the entire staff of St. Gabriel Villa. This was truly her home away from home. You’re very special people. At Joan’s request there will be no visitation. Donations in her memory can be made directly to the St. Gabriel Villa, Chelmsford.
We’re so sorry to hear of Dodie’s passing. She was a great lady! We really enjoyed getting to know her over the years when she was visiting Linda & Gary in London. She had a sunny disposition and was really interested in everyone’s lives. Our sincere condolences to the Block family. She will be missed.
